The techniques used in physiotherapy are recognised in helping multiple types of pain conditions such as sports injuries. The techniques used in physiotherapy are many and varied: our therapists employ manipulation to increase spinal mobility, mobilisation to improve joint flexibility, and massage and stretching to increase range of movement in the joints as well as their elasticity. We use weights, therabands and bodyweight are all used to strengthen and stabilise your body to prepare it for the strains of everyday life, as well as for rigorous exercise.
Proper posture is key for relieving pain, and physiotherapy includes teaching you how to sit and move in a way that is balanced and in accordance with your body’s natural equilibrium. Advice and education of our patients play an important role for the cure of acute symptoms as well as prevention of future re-occurrences.
The treatment will usually last for a number of sessions, depending on the nature and severity of the pain, and include the teaching of exercises to perform at home to reinforce the work done in-session.
