1:1 Reformer Pilates
Pilates exercises are done on a mat or using special equipment, such as the reformer and the chair, strengthening the body and emphasising core strength.
Pilates strengthens the body but emphasises core strength (effectively your abdominal area and everything attached to it) to improve general fitness and wellbeing. Pilates exercises are done on a mat or using special equipment, such as the Reformer.
The reformer not only provides support for beginners and people with certain medical conditions such as scoliosis, spondylolisthesis and osteoporosis to limit the risk of injury, it can can also provide resistance for people looking to challenge their body more intensely.
Pilates has been used by dancers and particularly ballet dancers for years to improve strength with flexibility which complements their training by developing whole body strength and flexibility. In fact, many teachers are former professional dancers.
Pilates has something to offer people of all ages and levels of ability and fitness, from beginners to elite athletes.
Regular pilates practise helps to improve posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension.
Pilates can also provide pain relief to people with lower back pain. The use of a reformer enables someone with back pain to perform exercises with support. Our teachers tailor exercises to you and can refer to our team of osteopaths and physiotherapists for clinical oversight as needed.
Our superb reception team is on hand to help you with all bookings and enquiries from 9am-8pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am-6pm (Saturdays).
