About Kevin
There are times when we will experience challenging stages in our lives, where we can feel lost, stuck or have emotional injuries, past or present, and struggle to deal with these issues by ourselves. I believe, with the power of talking through your concerns within a trusting and empathic relationship, we can walk the journey together through reflection and scope for change.
I am a Integrative and BACP registered counsellor, gaining my BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute, specialising in Gestalt, Person Centred and Transactional Analysis.
With this, I am able to tailor my approach accordingly to my clients needs, using different approaches and tools to increase a client’s awareness, self-direction and autonomy.
At times, I may use breath work within my practice, in order to help reconnect to past traumas and remain present within the here and now.
Born and raised in London, my journey in therapy started whilst working and volunteering for numerous charities, including The Samaritans, Macmillians and Drug and Alcohol misuse charities, including the LGBTQ+ community.
My role as a support/ key worker within the drug and alcohol misuse services was to support clients with their psychological issues, traumas and drug and alcohol dependency, enabling clients to gain a better relationship with themselves and others, and support them on the road of self-discovery and self-development.
In working for a number of charities over many years, I have been able to work with individuals of different age, culture and sexual orientation, with a wide range of presenting issues as listed below, including shame and addiction.
I am extremely passionate about my work and I’m committed to fully support my clients through their therapeutic journey of self-discovery and development of a better relationship with themselves and others.
I aim to provide a warm, neutral environment for us to gain trust, allowing an exploration of any issues that may arise, in an empathic and honest manner. This can involve looking at your past and how it is still impacting your present.
I can work with a soft exploration or can take on a more directive approach depending on my client’s preferences, enabling us to deepen the awareness to gain autonomy.
