Michelle Lane

1:1 Reformer Pilates | Swedish Massage | Deep Tissue Massage

About Michelle

Michelle began Pilates as part of her National Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance at London’s Urdang Academy. She soon discovered how instrumental it was in her dance training for control and strength, as well as injury rehabilitation and prevention. She also observed how the body can transform with regular practice.

Whilst living in South Africa Michelle decided she wanted to share the power of Pilates and qualified as a comprehensive and mat instructor at the Pilates Centre SA. She went on to teach one-on-one and group classes at the centre, as well as several different studios. she found that her background in dance gave her a deep knowledge of body alignment and how to use the body and mind to get maximum benefit from each exercise. Since returning to London Michelle has branched into teaching group reformer classes, and continues to enjoy teaching mat and private classes. She likes to push students within their individual ability, and tailors her classes to suit each client’s needs.

Michelle has also trained in Swedish massage to enhance the wellbeing of her clients. As a dancer, she knows only too well the effect of short tight muscles and stiff joints on injuries and understands brilliantly how deep tissue works to effleurage post-exercise muscle fatigue. As a dancer, Pilates instructor and massage therapist, she brings a wealth of knowledge of the body to her practice.

I am available for online consultations.

I’ve been to a few different places for physio, and this one is really excellent. Michelle is a particularly skilled and sensitive therapist, who feels her way into the issues and knows just how to work them out. Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic massage from Michelle. I was struggling to stand straight at work due to back and groin pain and now I feel ten times better. I will be coming back soon. Thank you so much!

Naomi Taylor

I’ve had countless massages all over the world and would say this was one of the best. I went in after having had a fall and injury a few weeks before, and the massage received the pain and fatigue and it also worked on a very deep level. She listened and was attentive to my needs; had checked my records at your clinic; was responsive and professional throughout.

Amanda Stone Nash

I thought Michelle was great – completely professional – did exactly what I needed her to – took on board all of my body idiosyncrasies, very kind and personable too.

I thought Michelle was excellent. I have visited the practice a number of times previously for a long existing shoulder complaint, seeing mostly osteopaths. Having recently become a father, the constant lifting and carrying of my daughter had begun to cause my back (and shoulder) to flare up. I thought a massage might be enough to take my mind off the aching at least.

Michelle was careful to discuss previous treatments and ailments I had in the past prior to undertaking the massage itself and I was thrilled with her ability to find the exact pressure required, not only to relax, but seemingly (intentionally or otherwise) to exercise some of the same techniques that had helped in previous osteopathy appointments.

I found her to be warm, focussed on my needs, and provided a great level of talkativeness and quiet in equal measure. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to resume my day without any of the lingering aches that had caused discomfort before the session.

I would not hesitate in recommending the practice to friends and booking in again, especially with Michelle.
